A recent study done at the division of endocrinology and metabolism at Johns Hopkins University school of medicine describes that isoflavone may be a viable alternative to taking estrogen for menopausal women. This was a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial in women with average age of 56 years. Participants were given 160 mg of isoflavones for a period of 12 weeks.
